Hello, members and friends of First Church!
I am so excited to announce that FCB Youth registration is officially open for the 2024-2025 church year.
As the next generation of dreamers and world changers, the youth group program is here to help the FCB youth become enlightened and empowered — armed with everything they need to lead openhearted & open-minded lives.
We are a welcoming safe space dedicated to personal, spiritual, and social exploration, as well as fun and snacks.
Each year we build a unique covenant to suit the needs of our ever-growing community, which includes how we choose to show up for ourselves, one another, and in the world.
We meet (almost) every Sunday night from 7-9 pm and enjoy 1-2 overnight events (COVID pending), and fun offsite social events throughout the year.
FCB Youth is open to members and non-members alike who are in 9-12 grade. Parents and guardians can register their youth here:
We have so much in store for your youth this year, you can catch a sneak peek of our greatest hits below.

September
We will kick off our YG season with an all-youth cabin at the Sandy Island weekend retreat! Families are welcome, but youth may attend as part of the youth program if parents/families can not attend. You can sign up for Sandy Island here, or contact me for more info at youthprogram@uubelmont.org.
October
Every year FCB Youth hosts a Halloween event for school-aged kids (potty trained - 8th grade). In the past, we've had games, candy, a bouncy house, a haunted house, a costume contest, and much more. We're excited to collaborate with our new Asst. Minister, Martha on this beloved community event open to all!
The following weekend we rent out Arlington's Capitol Theater for a special Halloween movie. This year, our movie screening will happen after a housing justice action in collaboration with the UU Mass Action: Youth Corps. FCB Youth is a dedicated partner with the UUMA: YC. As part of this partnership, FCB Youth group attends the fantastic events and actions they organize throughout the year. These events offer unique opportunities for personal growth, activism, and community engagement. To learn more about UUMA: YC, head here.
November
November marks that special time of year when we finally get to see the FCB Musical! Oftentimes, FCB youth members play a small role in supporting the Children's Musical, and they take great pride in flexing their leadership skills behind the scenes alongside Music Director, Ian Garvie. The musical is also an important fundraising opportunity for the FCB Youth service-learning trip. We hope you'll stop by for concessions to help us fundraise during this fantastic event.
December
Last year we joined forces with Common Cathedral for their overnight program focused on housing justice called City Reach! You can learn more about CityReach here. Last year we were able to gather so many donations for this special volunteer program, and we're looking forward to partnering with them again this year.
And a bit more:
January is our Community Trivia Night Fundraiser (we hope to see you there!).
A one-week service-learning trip over the February school vacation.
March hosts our trip reports to the congregation.
April will be filled with off-site adventures to places like Boda Borg, Meadow Lands, and more.
And of course, in May you won't want to miss the beloved youth-led service.
This is just a taste of all that our youth programming has to offer! We can't wait to share our adventures with you this year.
