About The Event
In 2014, the first LEGO movie offered to its viewers a refrain that “Everything Is Awesome,” while its 2019 sequel supplied a more realistic “Everything’s Not Awesome” perspective. One of the core tensions in the movies, especially tender for people who have delighted in playing with this system of plastic bricks, is whether to follow the instructional booklet or not. This service will explore how LEGO bricks might help us understand the lives we live and the complexities of instructions. Where might a metaphorical instructional booklet exist within our spiritual seeking and dwelling, both as individuals and as a collective? We will explore this question amidst the pull between awesome and not awesome.
