About The Event

So often we come together as a community to rejoice, to celebrate, to commit to action. But another important function of community is to come together to grieve. There is so much in our lives and in the world right now that we are grieving, and when we share that with each other, the burden of grief becomes just a bit easier to bear. Brahms wrote his Requiem using passages from the Lutheran bible, and unlike the Catholic mass for the dead, it presents no doctrine. Instead it offers hope and solace without the suggestion of judgement or terror. The Senior Choir, along with a chamber orchestra, will present the Requiem in its entirety. We invite you to bring whatever grief you may be carrying and find a space where it can be held. This will be a multigenerational service and children and their families are invited to stay and experience the music. Nursery care will be available for children 0-6.
