About The Event
Please join us for an evening of contra/square/circle dances. These are simple, fun, and easy to learn. With a caller to teach you the dances, you will learn the steps and dance the night away.
No partners are needed. Just be prepared to have fun, laugh, and enjoy the infectious atmosphere.
The night will begin with dances for the little and big ones (ages 3-100) and then move on to dances more appropriate to the 7 and older set.
These dances are done with partners, in sets of couples in a line, in a circle, or squares, and they are accompanied by live fiddle and piano. They are simple and fun, and easy to learn. All dances are taught, and figures are called out as the dance progresses, so no memory or fancy dance moves are required!
Oren Rosenthal will play fiddle and call; Lanier Smythe on piano.
