Sarah joined the staff of First Church in February 2012 as the Children’s Religious Education Assistant. In August 2012, she began working as the Youth Assistant as well helping coordinate and facilitate youth group activities. And in January 2013, she transitioned from Religious Education to Student Ministry. Whether she is up in the pulpit, in the RE wing, or hanging with the youth group, Sarah enjoys the variety of her work at First Church.
Sarah is currently pursuing her Masters of Divinity at Andover Newton Theological School and is a candidate for Unitarian Universalist ministry. She co-leads an interfaith group of seminarians who visit and mentor incarcerated persons enrolled in college programs in correctional institutions in Massachusetts.
Before beginning grad school she spent time working for non-profits in Washington, D.C. When she’s not reading or writing about theology she experiments in knitting, running, singing and being outdoors. Above all Sarah relishes time spent with all the different people she calls family, especially her husband Adam.
