Lillian has joined First Church Fall 2012 as Adult Programs Advisor, having recently retired from Emerson Hospital as a night shift labor and delivery nurse for twenty-five years. She is glad to be here with us during the day but confesses that she is really at her best after 8pm. She developed her interest in nocturnal events from her years of being involved in theatre, having obtained degrees in that field. She has managed to pursue her interest, both on stage and off, and sees no slacking in her theatrical passion. Raised in the Bronx and then moving to Florida for her middle school through college years taught her how much she appreciates being in New England. She has lived in Concord, Ma for 40 years in the same house. She has two children, both of whom live in Ohio and has just become a grandmother for the second time in 16 months. Lillian has been a UU since 1973 and has been an active volunteer at First Parish in Concord where she has held leadership positions in many areas of church life. She also enjoyed serving on the denomination’s General Assembly Planning Committee from 2001-2005. Her commitment to developing and strengthening the relationships of our members is explained in the following statement: “The strength of our congregations is based on the relationships within our faith community. Each person comes seeking something, and I believe that we can help each other to find and develop our own personal ministries. Warmly welcoming newcomers and making sure that the current members feel involved is at the heart of congregational life.”
