Janice Zazinski, Church Administrator, has an eclectic work history that started when she was a hospital “candy striper” in her hometown of Fort Lee, New Jersey. Prior to coming to First Church in Belmont, she worked at The First Parish in Cambridge, Unitarian Universalist, as assistant to the Congregational Administrator. If you’re a coffee or tea fan, you might recognize her as the manager of the Peet’s Coffee retail stores in Lexington and Harvard Square, where she worked for nearly nine years. She’s also worked in public relations at Boston University, the MIT Sloan School of Management, a private nonprofit housing agency, and a New York PR firm. She has a BA in Philosophy from The George Washington University and has waited tables more places than she can count on both hands. Janice is a Certified Small Animal Massage Therapist with a part-time practice, Beloved Companion Animal Massage (belovedcompanion.com). For fun she crochets, plays the ukulele, studies canine behavior, does the NY Times Saturday crossword in red pen, and takes day trips to the Montague Book Mill (their motto: “Books you don’t need in a place you can’t find.”) Janice is on the board of the Arlington Dog Owners' Group and volunteers with Last Hope K9 Rescue. Janice lives in East Arlington with her husband, Rob (who is studying for his MDiv at Andover-Newton Theological School) and their rescue dog, Daisy. She and Rob attend First Parish in Sudbury. She bicycles in to work most days … that’s her 3-speed, with the groovy saddlebags, parked at the rack.
