Coffee House Committee
Overseeing Boston’s first and longest-standing all-benefit coffeehouse, the Second Friday Coffeehouse Committee is responsible for scheduling, booking, publicizing, running, and selecting beneficiaries for monthly (nine per year) fund-raising, social, musical evenings. The money raised, from a combination of Season Ticket sales and ticket purchases at the door, goes to organizations that focus on human service, social justice and other Unitarian-Universalist and environmental concerns. The Second Friday Coffeehouse provides an ongoing venue for both new and established singer/song-writers (and other creative performers including poets and storytellers), as well as those who love to see and hear them, to perform in an intimate, welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Over the years, many performers, including ones who have become nationally known, have told us that our coffeehouse’s commitment both to the folk music community and to our beneficiaries is very special.

As a committee we share a commitment to work together collectively and to make all decisions by consensus. We are social activists who love music, and we welcome new members who wish to join us as we enter our 33rd year. Interested in joining this committee? Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
