Children’s Religious Education
Our Children’s Religious Education program provides children with the opportunity for spiritual, personal, and intellectual growth. As a religious community we come together to explore and live the sacred. Our program provides a religious community where children are encouraged to ask questions, learn about Unitarian Universalism, discover aspects about world religions, explore spirituality and be in service for the larger community. It’s time to register your children for the 2012-2013 RE program! Registration Deadline is May 29.
Sunday ScheduleChildren’s religious education programs take place on Sunday mornings. The Nursery is open 8:45-12:30 for children up to age 3. The First Friends class (ages 3-5) begins at 9am and 11am, and a Kindergaten class begins at 9am. Children grades 1 and above begin their morning in the 9:00 or 11:00 worship service and then proceed to their Sunday School classrooms during the hymn following the children’s homily. On the first Sunday of the month children grades 1 and above go directly to the First Church library for a Children’s Worship service followed by Sunday School classes. All Sunday School classes end at quarter past the hour. Parents of children in grades 2 and younger are requested to pick their children up promptly; older children are allowed to go find their parents at coffee hour. On Single Service Sundays, Sunday School meets only at 10:30. Starting in January, the 8th grade class meets Sunday afternoons from 4:30-6:30 for Our Whole Lives.
