The First Church Music Program welcomes you back for the 2015-2016 Church year.
As most of you know, this year we welcome our new Director of Music, Ian Garvie, as well as our new Organist/Assistant Music Director Dylan Sauerwald. The Music Committee looks forward to the coming year and invites you to enrich your First Church experience by participating in one of our varied music offerings:
For Adults who enjoy singing: Consider joining the Nova or Senior Choir communities! Nova is an un-auditioned choir of about 25 singers that rehearses once a week on Thursdays from 6:45-8pm and sings on average two Sundays a month at 9 am. The Senior Choir is an auditioned choir of @40 singers and 4 soloist/section leaders that rehearses on Sunday mornings and sings at the 11am service. First Church Director of Music, Ian Garvie, directs both choirs.
For more information or to sign up for a choir, please contact Ian at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 617 484 1054 Ext. 206
For Families: There are choir opportunities for every age, as well as our renowned annual musical production. The children’s and youth choirs meet weekly on Monday evenings and sing in four services throughout the year. The Junior Choir is for choristers from grades K-4, the Chancel Choir for grades 5-6 and the Youth Choir for grades 7-12. Choir participants have the opportunity to participate in the annual Fall Musical, which will be “THE WIZARD OF OZ” this coming November.
To register your child for the Youth/Children’s Music program for this coming year please “follow the yellow brick road” to the following link.
There are others ways to become involved in music at First Church as well, whether as a volunteer, a performer or committee member. If you would like to learn more, contact the Music Committee at email@example.com (or Ian at his number or email above)
