First Church’s own keyboardist and singer, Richard Curzi, returns to the Second Friday Coffeehouse for the 14th time, performing both sets in a variety of musical configurations guaranteed to delight lovers of all music genres.

This year’s show will begin with “unplugged” acoustic performances of an unconventionally eclectic mix of original songs, nostalgic pop, jazz, and folk styles. The second set will feature the “Filthy Funk Gentlemen” – a kickin’ brass section of Belmont High School students who were recently featured at the annual POMS (Parents of Music Students) “MY GENERATION” benefit dance party. WOW!Positive Energy has audiences saying “We were in a frenzy of delight – I can’t remember smiling so much!” Richard Curzi on piano and vocals, Jon Svetkey on guitar & vocals, Jim Wooster on guitar, Rick Dimino on bass, Paul Judge on guitar and vocals, Mark Kohler on drums and percussion, Jerry Twomey on guitar, Bridget Curzi on vocals & guitar, and Heather Quay on vocals. With guest appearances by Rowan Wolf on tenor & baritone sax, Yilei Bai on alto sax, Jasper Wolf and Riley Grant on trumpet, and Jack Stone on trombone.
