In our ever-changing lives, we sometimes need a place to talk when we are faced with news or are coping with an ongoing medical condition for either ourselves or someone close to us. This group meets monthly to provide that safe space. If you are interested but are unable to attend please contact Kathy Lind at

Coming Up:
The First Church Book Group
Wednesday, Nov. 28th, 7:30pm, Library
The Book Group will meet in the First Church Library to discuss “The
Leisure Seeker” by Michael Zadoorian.
After 60 years of marriage, Ella and John Robina, who both suffer from
serious illness, decide to slip away from their family and doctors to
take one last road trip in their RV from the Detroit area to
Disneyland.  As they retrace the route of earlier journeys along the
legendary Route 66, they relive their previous adventures and life
challenges.  By turns humorous and touching, the book takes the reader
on this odyssey as the couple confronts the indignities and trials of
aging and illness.  Ella both masterminds their adventure and narrates
it with a singular and unforgettable voice. Please email Anne Stuart
at: to confirm attendance if you are interested
in participating.
Looking ahead:  the Book Group will not meet in December.  In January,
the group will discuss Edwin O’Connor’s “The Last Hurrah” and view the
movie directed by John Ford, starring Spencer Tracy.
