Please join the UU Urban Ministry in welcoming the Rev. Dr. Mark Morrison-Reed for a special presentation that explores the African American experience within Unitarianism, Universalism and Unitarian Universalism. We will drop in on events that took place in 1860, 1900, 1930 and 1960 and try to answer the question, “What if?” Had Unitarians, Universalists, and Unitarian Universalists made different decisions at those junctures in history, could our UU faith have evolved to encompass greater diversity?
Dr. Morrison -Reed is an Affiliated Faculty member at Meadville Lombard Theological School and the author of numerous books and articles. He divides his time between speaking in Canada, the U.S. and Europe, and writing.
Presented at the UU Urban Ministry, First Church in Roxbury, 10 Putnam Street, Roxbury, MA
