Brendan Hogan

In Brendan Hogan’s own words, he is “a performing songwriter, former radio host [NPR’s ‘Blues on WGBH’], and glossy-eyed lover of American music. I think about music a lot. When I’m not thinking about it, I’m playing it. When I’m not playing it, I’m talking about it.” Mr. Hogan’s first appearance at the Second Friday Coffee House came in 2008, in a walk-on, open mic performance. Our booking agents leapt at an opportunity to sign him up for a more formal set in our 2009-2010 season—which was met with such audience enthusiasm that we reserved a spot for him at the October 15th SFCH this year too! Brendan music is unique, with folk, blues, and rock influences, delivered in an intense, rhythmic style. Solo, Hogan performs mostly original material with an occasional cover, and delivers a punch that will linger for some time. His debut CD, “Long Night Coming”, was released in January 2010.

John Colvert

John Colvert tells his life’s stories in song and tints them with his spirited imagination. You are in for a memorable evening of personal reflection from this Rhode Island-based singer-songwriter. His debut CD, “Songs for the Northern Belle”, was released in February 2010.
